Moving in

A few things to arrange before move-in day, so the building is ready for you and your neighbors know what to expect.

Schedule your move

Tell us your move-in date and time through the move-in form. We confirm the booking and, where the building has one, reserve the elevator for you.

If you hire movers

Moving companies must send us a certificate of insurance before the move. The wording has to match the sample for your building, which you will find in the resident portal menu under Resources, then Sample COI. Please give your movers enough time to request it from their insurer.

Your resident portal

Soon after your lease is signed, you will receive an email inviting you to the resident portal. Use the link to set your password. From then on, the portal is where you pay rent, request repairs and find your lease and building notices.

If the invitation has not arrived, check your junk folder, or write to us at info@block.nyc and we will send it again.

Utilities

If your lease puts electricity or gas in your name, open your account with Con Edison before you move in. In newer buildings, an apartment number is sometimes not yet listed online. If that happens, call Con Edison at 1-877-779-6943 and they will set up the account by phone.

Deliveries after you move in

Furniture or large items that are carried into the apartment and assembled need the same certificate of insurance from the delivery company. Packages left in the package room do not.
